Why just this shrub is in the top search terms of statistics is not clear to me. Now, almost by popular demand something more.
The native shrub is much smaller than the known copper-Amelanchier A. lamarkii, the second in each Services can be found. Flower, autumn color and appearance are very similar. On the abundant white flowers in April and May the black berries, popular with birds, which, where it quickly, can be processed as wild fruit into jams etc. The high North American Amelanchier (formerly A. canadensis) is a large shrub and is known for the red-orange fall color, which starts early, but lasts only briefly.
